I am blessed to have a wonderful group of friends.
Last Thursday my friends got together for breakfast. While they were visiting they mentioned that the only thing missing was me (because you know, I moved) and decided to get together again the following Thursday (today).
Best Friend got to thinking about it and called me up to invite me to have breakfast with them. I think her words were along the lines of “Hey! Why don’t you take your kids out of school next Thursday and come to _____ and have breakfast with us.”
I told her I couldn’t do that but was wishing I could. She informed me that yes I could and when would the five of us be able to get together again? One was moving and one was going to another continent at the end of the month. She had a point soooo…that’s what I did.
I left for _____ Wednesday when the kiddos got home from school, dropped them off at the grandparents and went to Best Friend’s house. (I came down the night before because I wasn’t getting up early enough to make a two hour trip to be at J’s house by 8:00am.)
So today I was blessed to be able to have breakfast with Best Friend and some other close friends. Then I went to my favorite book store to kill time until lunch with Best Friend and K (my other best friend) and A. (A just had a baby so I got to hold and kiss him when I wasn’t forced to share him with everyone else.)
After lunch Best Friend and I headed back to the bookstore and hung out some more. Then the grandparents brought the kiddos to the bookstore and I had coffee with the in-laws (grandparents) until I took the kiddos to Best Friend’s so my kiddos could play with her kiddos.
I had an amazing day and if I didn’t know it before (which I did) I realized I am blessed to have an amazing Best Friend. If it weren’t for her convincing me to come visit I wouldn’t have been able to have so much food and fellowship.
Thank you Best Friend. I had a wonderful day and can’t wait to do it again. (Only this time I might wait until the kiddos are actually out of school.)
