It has been one week since this post and I’m proud to say I’ve kept up with house.
I said I was going to do the weekly assignments from FlyLady but they were in the front entry area and that’s under control so I skipped it. (Remember, I was going to follow the principles I learned from FlyLady. I wasn’t going to follow it exactly.)
By keeping up with the house I haven’t been able to knit as much but when I have been able to knit it is much more refreshing. There is something relaxing while knitting knowing that the home is in order. I don’t have that nagging voice in my head telling me I should be straightening up instead of working on this row.
I am also enjoying knowing that hubby is more relaxed when he comes home because the house looks so much better. The kids are more willing to help out because it doesn’t take as long to clean up because they are made to pick up after themselves. They can see a difference in the house and want to be a part of it.
I mean come on… my 3 yo is even getting in on it. She runs into her room and starts picking up her toys because the boys are having to pick up their room. Oh yeah! I’m loving this.
So that’s week one. Week two will be a bit different because I will be gone for part of it. I’m not sure what the house will look like when I get back but hey, if it looks terrible then I guess everyone will help clean it over the weekend.
