Lately I’ve been staying up way too late. I’m not doing anything important. I just don’t want to go to bed. Once I go to bed, I’ll fall asleep, then my alarm clock will go off, I’ll get the kids up, go about my day, and then it’s time for bed.
As long as I don’t go to bed then I’m not going to sleep and the next day isn’t here. It’s kind of like covering my eyes and if I can’t see you then you can’t see me. (Brilliant, I know.) However, it doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t matter how late I stay up my day will begin at the same time and I have the same things that need to be done. Only I’m exhausted instead of well-rested.
I used to go to bed at 10:00pm and would get quite a bit accomplished during the day. I also used to go to bed at 10:00pm and would get to hang out with Best Friend the next day.
Ok. From now on I’m going to bed at 10:00pm so I can a) get a lot accomplished and b) hand out with Best Friend. Unfortunately, the Best Friend part won’t happen but maybe if I start going to bed at a decent hour I’ll start feeling better and be more productive. Huh. What a concept.
