WIP – Hubby’s Socks

I am still working on hubby’s socks. They are taking longer than I thought they would but I’ve never worked with sock yarn before so I didn’t realize how thin it was. I am happy with how they are turning out. I’m knitting them toe-up and like the fact he can try them on as I knit them.

I almost put a couple of cables in the socks but decided to do a K2P2 rib pattern instead (for the leg only). I like how they are turning out but wish I would have done the cables instead. Especially, since the next yarn is variegated and I think the cables will get lost in color switch.

Of course I don’t really know what I’m doing. I just see things I want to knit and find a yarn I can afford and start knitting away. After I make a swatch to see if I’m getting the gauge correct, of course.

Sometimes it takes forever for me to get the gauge correct because I can’t ever remember if I should have gone up a size or down a size. I almost always pick the wrong size I need to adjust the gauge.

Anyway, back to hubby’s socks. I’m still working on them. Hopefully, I will be done with them in a couple of weeks since I don’t work on them very often. I try to wait until the kids are distracted or in bed asleep so that leaves little knitting time.

What are you working on?
