During offering from the Pastor -
…if you need food, clothing, or shelter just reach in and take what you need.”
That totally blew me away. In all my 35 years of attending church I haven’t ever heard the Pastor tell the congregation that they can help themselves to the offering if they need it. Wow!
My oldest son and I during the altar call -
Son: In Twilight Princess, Zelda dies to save Link. I think that’s stupid.
Me: Do you think it’s stupid that Jesus died for you?
Son: No, because he had to. Zelda didn’t have to. Jesus knew what he was doing, Zelda didn’t know.
Me: Jesus had to die so you could go to heaven and be with God.
Son: Yes, mom I know.
This tells me that he is paying attention even if it doesn’t look like he is. It also tells me that he has been thinking about this and applying it to his everyday life.
My second son and I -
Me: What did you learn in class today?
Son: Absolutely nothing.

I am blown away by what the pastor said. I love my church but I do believe my pastor has never said anything of the sort!
